IF.....!
....i was married to john travolta, i would ask him to show me the dance moves from all his movies. me and him would also sing "you're the one that i want" from grease on a regular basis.
WHAT A DAY!!
well, today i decided that i would do those last minute xmas shopping errands and took mikey with me. we had fun. our first stop was hobby lobby where i proceeded to pick up some things for mike to put in my stocking (he absolutely hates when i do this since he likes to buy his own things. however, i feel guilty when i buy myself stuff at this time of year). once i open my stocking, i will take pictures of em and post ;)
next was the mall to use my free $10 off at $10 coupon from jc penny's. but first we decided to grab something to eat before we shopped. we stood in a 15 min. long line at chik-fil-a for mikey a kids meal (and i must say it was worth the wait. a book in a happy meal??? i think chik-fil-a deserves a satisfied customer email from me. what a great idea). then we stood in another 15 min. line at subway so i could get my veggie and cheese on wheat sandwich. after we ate, we had to each get a cookie (of course!).
then we hit jc penny and bought mike two shirts that i know he is not going to like, but oh well.
then, the reason for my whole day out, a trip to walmart to look at the martha stewart wrapping paper. i just had to get my hands on that paper. so cute, so vintage. i stood before all the rolls, trying to decide which one i liked. picked one up and then...whoa! whats that?... my thifty voice said a $3.99 pricetag. are you kidding me??? 4 bucks for paper that is going to end up in the trash? but, you want to give your friends gifts in the cutest paper...said the not so thrifty voice. oh what the hell, two rolls go in the cart. as i proceeded to finish getting a couple of things, the nagging thrifty voice kept telling me....8 bucks for wrapping paper. you fool! so i put it back and was so proud of myself and i knew that mike would be proud of me too, so i called him as soon as we got into the car. i proceeded to tell him the story and he said "and i'm proud of you for that?" and i said "well, yeah. i didn't spend $8 on wrapping paper. i can get 8 rolls for that price at the dollar tree." and he said "oh". in other words, i wouldn't have known or even cared how much you paid for that wrapping paper.
so we then went to the dollar tree, but i decided to go into biglots before that. what a great decision. i got a ton of wrapping paper for only $1.99 each, the toys for our santa wears a badge program at work, some pringles for $0.69 a thing, and a bunch of other crap.
wanna know the sad thing about the whole wrapping paper thing. i have a butt load of it at home. just afraid i am going to run out or i am not going to want to use what i have. silly eh?
so once we get home and the mail finally decides to arrive, i got the greatest lil pkg. from lems at glitter. she sent this yarn
and these glittery hair pins
. what a great mail day.
now on to dinner. before me and mikey left for our adventure, i put everything in the crockpot for beefstew. once it was time for dinner, i started some rice and made some biscuits. all the while, i kept thinking that i was not in the mood to eat this. wanna know something? pizza is on its way ;)

THE BOOB CARD!!
since i haven't done anything crafty all week, i decided that i would seach the computer for a pic of something that i have done and never posted.
i choose the boob card!
last year, melissa had breast reduction surgery and i just knew that i wouldn't be able to find a card at hallmark that covered that. so i decided to make my own card.
she just loved it!
THE SAMPLER!
i forgot to post about the goodies i got from home of the sampler.
i was so excited to receive my envy full of goodness that once i recd. it, i opened it with the most delicate of hands and pulled out each and every piece with much anticipation.
everything is wonderful!!!! i cannot wait to try my hand at embroidering my sublime stitching pattern or to take a bath with the oatmeal & honey bath salts (which smell so friggin' good).
i am so glad that i signed up for the 3-month long subscription :)

MARTHA STEWART EVERYDAY FOOD!
allison at pretending sanity posts her weekly menu on her site. a few of the recipes she posts are from martha stewart's everyday food magazine. i have been wanting to pick one up, so while i was waiting for those rx's, this is one of the things i picked up (that i did not need).
once i got home and plopped on the couch, i thumbed through it. now i know why allison likes this mag so much. it is put together nicely, a ton of pictures, and easy recipes.
there are a few that i am going to try out. i'll let ya know how it goes.
note to self: need to stop by the library to see if anyone has donated any of these. love to get my hands on a couple for a dime a piece :)
YUMMMMMMY!
while i was waiting for my rx's to be filled at walmart, i walked around and bought a bunch of stuff i don't need (and forgot some things that i did need).
anywho, i stumbled upon the most delicious looking popcorn. i picked it up (at $2.50 a pop) and whatta ya know.
it is the most delicious stuff. the chocolate is so yummy and the popcorn is so fresh, its nice and soft.
i went to their website and guess whatelse they make?
this
the funny thing is, i was just asking mike the other day, why don't we have a cinnamon bun place at our mall?
AHHHHHHH----CHOOOO!
damn it if i'm not sick again. i've been outta work all week and finally went to the doctor today. just a bad cold. you know, all that coughin' and congestion. this couldn't have come at a worse time. i have christmas stuff to get ready for ya know. i mean can you believe it...christmas is next friggin saturday! i have a ton of presents to wrap, a few more to buy, baking to do, and the list goes on and on.
while i've been out though, i have established my daytime television routine for when i am on vacation at the end of the month.
9-11 am: reruns of dawson's creek (ahhh...teenage angst)
11 am-1 pm: murder she wrote (oh j.b. fletcher, when will you be out on dvd?)
1 pm: hunter (oh rick, i cannot to receive you on dvd next month)
2 pm: judge joe brown
3 pm: judge judy
4 pm: channel surfing
5 pm: the golden girls (dorothy, blanche, sophia, & rose, hopfully i will be receiving you gals under the xmas tree)
now of course, there is a lot of flipping around during commercials. i check in on my soaps, whats going on on diynet, etc.
one more thing to add to this post. the doctor prescribed me a cough/congestion syrup. now, since i have been little, me and syrups do not get along. there have been many a times that i have thrown them up, spit them out, cried and told my mom that i refused to take them, stood there with my lips firmly pressed while the spoon tried to make its way in. hell, my mom has even gone to the point as to tell me "die then" (note: i was an older child, prolly a teenager, and this was said in frustation. no comments about how horrible she must be for saying that).
so when i got home today and it was time to meet my dreaded enemy, i had to go thru the whole preparation process. barq's rootbeer and peanutbutter crackers right there and ready & fingers squeezing my nose too tightly. so here we go, i slowly watch as my hand makes its way to my mouth. butterflies in my stomach, telling myself that "i can do this, i'm a big girl". the syrup then makes its way into my mouth. i drop the spoon, take a big gulp of barq's, and shove two peanutbutter crackers in my mouth. all the while, i am dancing around the kitchen, making noises while i chew and practically swallow whole.
finally, its down and i can rest until the four hours are up and i have to go through the whole thing all over again.

A CRAFTY LIL BEE!
i was busy this evening finishing up some things. yesterday i finished a couple of scarves that i was working on for christmas presents. i do love to knit, but i must admit, that i am ready to learn a new stitch. i only know the basic one.
i'm not too worried about the recipients of these gifts seeing the pictures. no one i know in *real* life reads my blog :(
i also made this necklace to go with one of the above scarves as a gift. its like the pisces necklace i made for myself, but with different colored beads.
and as a gift to myself ;) i made the following card pin and black wire/bead necklace & bracelet. the necklace and bracelet were fun to make. i hardly use wire when i make beaded things, so this was fun. hopefully the wire will hold up (thin gauge). next time though, i need to start off with a very long piece.
i also finished working on these damn christmas cards. the ribbon i choose was a big disaster. some of the cards are tied in a bow, some of them are just tied in a not in the center, one or two cards just has red ric-rac tied in a bow, and the rest of the cards use a different ribbon and different style knot (i am so sick of looking at the damn things i don't even feel like scanning one to show ya. but i will try to scan one before i seal em in the envy's and get them the hell outta my house). guess ya know how i feel about em ;)

GAME TIME!!
saturday evening, melissa (greta couldn't make it) came over to play some rummy 21.
its been quite a while since we have had a game day, but it was the first time that i got to use some of my card related goodies.
this is the tablecloth that i got at an antique store in minoqua, wisconsin over the summer. i absolutely *love* it. i can't tell if its hand embroidered or if it machine made. either way, i am going to copy the design and make some napkins.
i got these wonderful glasses in milwaukee at the tip top atomic shop. i didn't notice though, until i got home, that there were two diamonds and was missing the heart. but thats okay, when i get a chance, i will see if i can search online for the missing heart glass. i love these glasses so much :)
i got these lil dishes at abc i do have all four suits, but only dragged out three of them. they are too cute and perfect for nuts, candy etc.
me and melissa had a load of fun but we missed greta tons!

MY FIRST TRAFFIC STOP!!
on my way to drop the kids off today, i noticed my check engine light came on. oh brother! whatta bother! so mike followed me to the dealership (about a 30 min.) drive. we dropped the vehicle off and headed back to work.
when it came time to pick it up, me and mike were headed back that way. the drive requires us to drive over a bridge. once we came off the bridge, a vehicle went flying by us (we're in his unit remember) in the other lanes of traffic.
that is when i was on my first traffic stop. i was a lil nervous sitting in the car and watching the whole process. i mean, i've seen cops, i've seen police training videos on what "could" happen on a stop. plus, its been a long time since i have seen mike "in action".
but the stop went off without a hitch ('cept for the usual, "i wasn't doing anything, i was just minding my own business") and we headed to the dealership and picked up my car :)

WHY DOES SHE HARDLY POST ON MONDAYS?!
the reason that i hardly post on mondays, is because i come home from work, change in to some comfy jammies, fix dinner, and eat it while watching a 4 hour marathon of law & order on tnt.
of course i usually fall asleep after the first episode or two, but that is my monday night. and i look forward to it alllll day on while i am at work :)

HAPPY BDAY MELISSA!
well, today is melissa's bday and here is the card i made her. of course it resembles the ones i made here.
i cannot wait to give it to her. for her bday she is getting some of bath and body works yummy new chocolate fondue body wash and body lotion. oh this stuff smells so good. she is also getting some hershey bars to go with it.
she is going to smell yummy!
happy birthday melissa!
FAMILY & FRIENDS CHRISTMAS CARD!
well, here is the first (and only) completed christmas card that i am sending family and friends. i am not sure how crazy i am about it, but it will do. i just don't know if i like the ribbon i choose. but since i bought quite a few spools of it after last years christmas, i know i won't run out.
its a single piece of paper (meaning i didn't use a folded card). the picture is matted and ribbon is tied in a bow at the top.
now i'm off to make the others :)
CHRISTMAS CARDS FOR THE GLITTERATI!
well, today i *finally* finished my christmas cards for glitter. whew!!! i made five different variations for a total of 39 cards.
the only thing left to do is sign them, put my name on the back, and address them. i plan on doing this while i we are watching the wire tonight so they can go out in the mail tomorrow.
now i'm off to start the christmas cards to make for friends and family! this reminds me that i need to get more stamps ;)

MY BUG IS SICK!!
my poor lil bug has had a cold on and off for about a week. well last night, it started to get worse (high fever, coughing, running nose, etc. etc). he has hardly eaten anything today (besides some brownies and a frozen hot chocolate mix drink i made him).
well, i just went to check on him a few minutes ago and he was sleeping sitting up. unfortunately when i took the pic, the flash woke him up.
it did make him smile though!
MY ISABELLA!
lately, isabella's vocabulary has grown. here is some of it:
book- (said very quickly, almost like it only has one "o" in it)
no- (this is said *all* the time)
mine- (this one too)
shoes (damn i'm proud of that)
phone (and that one too)
isss- kiss
bite
bye
c- (c-ya)
snmell-(when she sticks her stinky feet in your face and wants you to smell em)
up
down
some other things about her:
-her hair has begun to grow just a lil bit more. i can almost make a good sized ponytail in the back. i just need to get some small bands. i cannot wait!
-she loves kitties and dogs. she also knows the sounds each one makes (the scariest "meow" i've ever heard and "oof" and "heh-heh" while she sticks out her tongue.
-she really does love socks, shoes, and tights. she gets excited when its time to put them on and starts shouting "shoes, shoes"
-in the mornings when me and mikey drop her off, she has started to wave and tell mikey bye when i get her outta the car. it is too cute!
-she's becoming less stingy with her kisses (thank goodness)
i sure do love my lil bella-boo.
**i have to add, after i published this post, bella came walking by and i showed her the pictures of her. i said "who is that? bella?" she said "elwa, elwa". she even knows and can say her lil name. makes my heart melt :)
BELLA IS A READER!
my lil girl loves to read!!!! i am so excited about this. she can sit down and flip thru a book or color in a book for quite a long period of time (for an 18 mos. old that is).
she says "book". she puts them back on her shelf when she is done. she *hardly* ever tears out the pages (why do kids do this?!?!?!?!).
i love that she likes to "read" and i love knowing that one day, the two of us will be able to read books and have wonderful discussions about them over coffee or tea.
CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!
well, today i ventured out in the crowds and decided to get some xmas shopping done. i would have had it all done, but mike got called out for work (a man jumped off a 24 story hotel/casino) and i had to come home to the kids.
i am proud to say that i got all of the kids shopping done. this was done of course b/c xmas isn't going to be big at our house this year. every year the kids get a butt load of stuff and every year they only play with it for just a lil while. so this year, xmas is small and the kids won't even notice.
of course bella is getting those wonderful girly things that i love to buy and mikey is getting some surprises that he will love!
i cannot wait till xmas morning just so i can get some pictures of the two of them.
maybe i will feel more in the xmas mood when i start to wrap everything (well, when i have mike wrap everything. i absolutely *hate* wrapping presents).
so did everyone else get their shopping done?
