Thank Goodness I Do NOT Have To Go To Work Tomorrow

ahhh...the feel of a sunday without the blahs. the blahs? you ask? b/c i don't have to go to work tomorrow. hell yeah for three day weekends (well actually 3.5 if you include the fact that i left at noon on friday).

well yesterday i was supposed to go to rachel's bridal shower but ended up not going (even though i got the jewelry done that i wanted to wear
:( michael's back has been hurting him so bad, i didn't want to leave him here alone with the kids.

so instead i did the following:

made my very first purse (whoo hoo!!!)

melissa came over last night for dinner (yummy enchiladas that i made with left over taco soup (recipe below) and brownies for dessert.

after she left i got to "work" (the idea of going into my bedroom and sitting in my craft corner and calling it works, makes me feel like i got a super-cool crafty kind of job :)~ anyway...back to the "work" i made three necklaces and four, very cute might i add, rings. thank you so much glitter and craftster for all the inspiration. here lately, i have been "working" almost every day.

its funny. even since i have been beltin' this stuff out, that is all i want to wear...my creations. i guess a true sign of an ar-teest!

now on to that taco soup. i got the basics for the recipe from gooseberry patch messageboards and added a lil bit of elizabeth to it. here goes:

taco soup

ingredients:

1-1 1/2 lbs of cooked ground beef (i just use leftover taco meat from
earlier in the week)
1 sm. can of tomato paste
1 can of corn
1 can of rotel
1 can of kidney beans
1 pkg. of ranch dressing mix
1 pkg. of taco seasoning mix (i use homemade; see below)
as much water as you want

directions:

dump everything into a crockpot and cook until you're hungry :) i usually start the crockpot before we go to work and when we get home dinner is done.

serve with cheese & tortilla chips

homemade taco seasoning mix (also off the net...don't remmeber where though)

2 T. chili powder
1 1/2 T. paprika
1 T. onion powder
1/2 T. salt (i omit this; but it's up to you ;)
3/4 T. garlic salt
1 dash of red pepper (i omit this too! mike doesn't like anything "too
spicy"
