CHALK DRAWINGS!!!

over the weekend while mike was outside mowing the lawn and weed eating (due to me being too terrified to weed eat) me and the kiddos did some chalk drawings.

after i took that pic of mikey, it looks like he was saying "WORD!"

MIKEY'S EASTER PARTY!!!

thursday was mikey's easter party at school. it was complete with lots of food and a big ol easter egg hunt! the egg hunt was so much fun. there is a ball field behind the church (where daycare is held) and they had eggs everywhere out there. the kids lined up by the fence until the whistle was blown and then they were off!

mikey racked up on quite a bit of eggs. the kids ended up being able to pick their 12 most favorite and those were the ones they got to keep (that way all the kiddos got the same amount of eggs). we all had quite a bit of fun!

THIS WILL MAKE YA THINK!!

i got this in another email from greta at work!

G.R.O.S.S.

In a year you will have swallowed 14 insects - while you slept!

Annually you will shake hands with 11 women who have recently masturbated and failed to wash their hands.

Annually you will shake hands with 6 men who have recently masturbated and failed to wash their hands.

In a lifetime 22 workmen will have examined the contents of your dirty linen basket.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT!!!

i received the following in an email and it certainly made me sit back and think a bit. i thought i would share it with ya'll and at the end, i will tell ya a lil story that goes with this

The 'L I T T L E' things
.

As you might know, the head of a company survived
9/11 because his son started kindergarten.

Another fellow was alive because it was
his turn to bring donuts.

One woman was late because her
alarm clock didn't go off in time.

One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike
because of an auto accident.

One of them
missed his bus.

One spilled food on her clothes and had to take
time to change.

One's
car wouldn't start.

One went back to
answer the telephone.

One had a
child that dawdled

and didn't get ready as soon as he should have.

One couldn't
get a taxi.

The one that struck me was the man

who put on a new pair of shoes that morning,

took the various means to get to work

but before he got there, he developed

a blister on his foot.

He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid.
That is why he is alive today.

Now when I am

stuck in traffic,

miss an elevator,

turn back to answer a ringing telephone...

all the little things that annoy me.

I think to myself,

this is exactly where
God wants me to be

at this very moment..

Next time your morning seems to be going wrong,

the children are slow getting dressed,

you can't seem to find the car keys,

you hit every traffic light,

don't get mad or frustrated;

God is at work watching over you.

May God continue to bless you

with all those annoying little things

and may you remember their possible purpose.

***okay, here's the story. my darlin' hubby is notorious for losing stuff (i mean the minute he sets something down, he has no idea where he put it and it drives me ape shit). so one morning, while we were doing our usual a.m. scramble before work, i remembered that he drove my car the night before therefore my car keys were prolly not in my purse. so i asked him where they were and he said he didn't remember where he put em. so there goes my patience. i am running around like a mad woman looking on every table in the house, looking on the kitchen counters, the couches, the computer desk, well, you get the idea and he is in the bedroom looking in there. i am already late for work (b/c i am the one who drives 30 mins. to bring the kids to daycare and then work while he gets to go straight to work). now i am screaming and yelling about how he can never put anything back where it goes and blah blah blah. i asked him if he checked the pant pockets of what he wore the night before and he said yeah they weren't there. now i'm really pissed. i am now crying and sweatin' up a storm b/c i am running around like a chicken with my head cut off. this proceeds to go for about another 5 minutes or so (felt like 30) and then he finally comes outta our bedroom again and says he found them. i stand there (still crying and screaming) and asked him where they were. he said he didn't want to tell me. i said TELL me where the keys where. he said in his pants pocket. i said i thought you already checked those and they weren't in there. he said the pants he was wearing right now. can you fuckin' believe it?!?!?!? all that time he had the keys on his person. after i got those keys in my hand i screamed a few choice words and threw my keys across the room. i went and picked em up, grabbed the kids and left. of course by now i was extremely late (and EXTREMELY pissed) and had vowed that i would not be speaking to my hubby for the rest of the day.

after i got back to work from lunch, my hubby had sent me a beautiful flower arrangement filled with his apologies. i luv'd em! but after reading this email, i realize that the biggest gift he may have given me was the avoidance of a car accident or something else.

so in the future, when my darlin' hubby loses something or wakes up late which then effects me getting out the door on time, he may just be doing me a favor :)

GISBE!!

i owe a huge thank you (and a huge apology for taking so long to say so) to gaile for the wonderful pkg. that she sent me for the great international secret blog exchange

the pkg. was too faboo!!! those lil lady bugs you see....to.die.for!!!

thanks again gaile and again, i apologize for taking so long to post this!

p.s. in a day or two, i will post a couple of pics of the scarves that i made from the yarn ;)

SAVIN' SOME PENNIES!!!

okay, its time to get down to the nitty-gritty and start saving those pennies again. when i get in this mood, its time to surf the net for coupons and start hounding friends for their coupon inserts in the paper! clipping coupons can be tedious but at the same time, can be very exciting and challenging. i really don't have any grocery stores that double on a regular basis (damn it) but i do try and prepare for the deals out there.

also, surfing the net for all the message boards out there really helps. i've listed a few of em for all those out there that are trying to pinch their pennies too!!

of course i am welcome to any tips and tricks you guys may have also ;)

i got:

a true crime book about the black dahlia

a box of godiva truffles

the cupcake cookbook that i wanted

and a tuscany book that i absolutely luv!!

thanks baby, everything is wonderful.

and for your viewing pleasure....

SOME CRAFTY SHOPPING!

well, after graduation, i grabbed the yellowpages and we hopped in the car and went scooping out some craft shops. we found a place called "heavenly beads" where i purchased the following items:

easter colored beads

an assortment of beads that are going to be turned into beautiful things :)

then we stopped at joann's where i purchased the below buttons:

flapper buttons that i saw on someone else's blog and since our local joann's had shut down, i knew i was going to have to stop by.

pretty blue buttons

we also stopped at target since we don't have a local one (unless you count a 45 min. drive local). we walked around and i saw a ton of things i wanted, but the following things had me giddy with delight!

paper napkins and plates to add to the collection (and to use at our next game party)

some much needed coasters to go with my collection

i think that about sums it up for my shopping. sure wish we woulda had more time to hit a knitting store that we saw after it had closed :)

MIKE GRADUATES FROM NATL. FORENSIC ACADEMY!!

well, the time had finally came! i got to fly to knoxville, tn to see mike graduate from the national forensic academy. our 10 week separation was finally over. i was so excited to see him i couldn't stand myself. i boarded my first plan here in gulfport and then had a two hour layover in memphis (where i proceeded to read magazines and knit). i finally boarded my second plane to knoxville and we arrived and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat on the runaway waiting to pull up to the terminal. we didn't know exactly why we were sitting there until the pilot (gorgeous ;) finally decided to let us that that in the plane in front of us, one of the passengers was stupid drunk and needed to be escorted off the plane by airport police. i couldn't stand it anymore. get that drunk fool off the plane so i can see my hubby!

i finally get off the damn plane and proceeded to kiss my hubby for the first time in 10 weeks. ahhhhh....everything was right again.

that night, we met all the people from his class for dinner at the riverside restaurant which was absolutely delish! i also had a chocolate kiss and almond joy martini which were both to die for (must find recipes on the net for those).

friday was the big graduation day!! we got all dressed up and went to a fancy restaurant for the ceremony. patricia cornwell was the guest speaker at the ceremony as she is greatly involved with the wonderful program. there was also an award called the "dr. bass award" which is given to the student that goes above and beyond during the 10 weeks. the students and teachers vote for the winner. and with an almost unanimous decision.....

....mike won!!!!!

i was so happy that i was crying. what an honor for him. i am so proud of him, he will never know!! the award is beautiful.

after the graduation, me and mike decided to pal around knoxville and check out a few craft stores and such (see next post).

saturday we came home and are both glad to be here and our family to be all together again!

ahhhh...life is good :)

MACHO, MACHO MAN!!!

today while i was taking a break outside at work, the kiddos next door at the elementary school were playing outside. that is when i heard a lil boy sing "i want to be a macho man". he kept singing it over and over again. it cracked me up.

A COUPLE MORE SCARVES!!!

yet some more things that went out in swap pkgs. i absolutely love the size and color of these scarves. sorry for the bad picture quality.

SOME MORE FRAMES!!!

here are a couple of frames from the dollar tree that i glued some patches on. i love how they turned out plus, it used up some of the supplies that i had sitting around (actually those patches my mom was trying to sell at a yard sale that me and her were having....i thought it was better to just take em off her hands myself ;)

these are also for a couple of swaps that i am currently in.

SOME MORE CARDS!!!

here are some cards that i made for a recent swap i was in (i don't want to see yet since she hasn't recd. em yet).

ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE!!

saturday, me and greta took all the bug-a-boos to the st. paddy's day parade on the beach. we got a prime spot at the church of redeemer and played around and waited for the parade to start. the only thing that would have made it more enjoyable, was that it was a lil less windy and just a couple of degrees warmer. all four kids racked up on some loot (i have enough beads laying around to throw from my own float next mardi gras if i wanted to). it was a load of fun. for now i am just going to post some pics and hopefully will put lil captions under em in a bit.
